When should we start the private school admissions process?

Start researching during the spring before applications open. This means that if your child is planning to apply for 6th grade admission, you should begin researching schools the spring of their 4th grade year. If your child is planning to apply for 9th grade admission, you should begin researching schools the spring of their 7th grade year.

Ideally, ISEE prep would begin around this time as well, or the summer before applications open. By the time school starts the in fall of their 5th/8th grade years they should have taken a mock test and have study plan in place.
